Welcome to the Archer City 4-H web newsletter!

Welcome to the Archer City 4-H web newsletter!

Jill is still learning how to use this, but hopefully I can sent out an email when ever new information is posted.

If you have something you'd like to post, let Jill know! I'm going to try and post slide shows of recent 4-H events, like the State & District horse show, Quiz Bowl competition, Horse Judging contests, our putt putt party and anything else we've all done! If you've got pictures of 4-H things, let me know and I'll see if we can get them added!

Putt Putt Party was hot, but fun!

Thanks to everyone who joined us at the pool/putt putt party a few weeks ago! I hope everyone had a great time, sweating it out with the golf balls! We signed up a few new members. Who Hoo!

If you did not get a newsletter that Jill passed out at the Putt Putt Party, you can download the August newsletter here.

Next 4-H Meeting is Tuesday, September 16 at the Extension Office at 7 p.m. We will make posters for National 4-H Week that is October 6-10. I'll have poster board and other materials... If you've got cool things to create posters with, feel free to bring them to the meeting.

We will also ELECT OFFICERS at the September meeting. If you plan to run for an office, come prepared to introduce yourself to the club, tell everyone what projects you're involved in and why you want to be an officer. Every candidate will get up and introduce themselves. Offices available: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, & Reporter.

PHOTOGRAPHY...

We will have a few photography workshops this fall to practice your skills! In the mean time, get busy taking pictures, anywhere and everywhere!

There will be new guidelines for the 2009 Photography Show at the Home Economics Show (during the stock show). We will adopt the District 4-H Photography format, with categories in: People, Animals, Landscape, Floral, Architecture, Still Life and Special Effects. (color & black/white)

Those winning each category will advance to District competition in the spring. So get busy taking those pictures!!!
