Our club is selling fresh balsam Christmas wreaths this year! Sales go from now til November 11th. Wreaths are $25 each, and feature super fresh Minnesota balsam and velvet bows. These are very nice, high quality wreaths!

THE FIRST 4-H MEETING TO KICK OFF OUR NEW 4-H YEAR WILL BE HELD SEPTEMBER 21ST AT 7 P.M. AT THE ACTIVITY BUILDING IN ARCHER CITY.

Busy Summer
Our 4-H club has been very busy this year. We have had the County, District, and State Horse Shows. All of the riders at the shows have brought home ribbons and helped us to win high point district at the state show!
We have also had Share the Fun, District Show, and State Round Up. And we competed in the Horse Judging contests at District and two of our seniors Cori Hash and Megan Weede made it to state.
Cori and Megan also had a Team Horse Demonstration on Equine Gastric Ulcer Syndrome. The competed at District and got first. They moved on to State and got second. And finally they made it to the National competition help in Oklahoma City, where they reseived third place.
The record books have been completed and the results are:
Sr. Horse- 1st Cori Hash
Sr. Beef- 4th Megan Weede
Int. Swine- 2nd Tanner Hash
Int. Horse- 1st Ashton Dunkel
Jr. Sheep- 2nd Maeley Herring
Jr. Vet Science- 1st Sydney Dunkel
We our very proud of every single one of our 4-Hers. you have done a fantastic job at competitions and a even better job representing Archer County 4-H congradulations and keep up the good work.

Up Coming Events
We have many up coming events this year. In September we have our SHOT Show (Stock Horse of Texas). This was a great learning experience for everyone and we had alot of fun. This will be our second year to host this so we are going to need volunteers. This is a major fundraiser for our club.
We will post more information about the show when the time gets closer to it.

New Year
The new 4-H year is coming up pretty quick, so those of you wanting to join now is the time. We will post when the first meeting is and you are more then welcome to come or you can contact our Extension Office at 574-4914. There are many different things you can do in 4-H. There are also great learning experience and oppertunities in 4-H and we would love you to be part of our club

The 4-H group at the district competition. They all did very well. The skit group got first! Megan and Cori got first in an informative horse presentation and are movig on to state! Caleb got third in a vet science informative presentation! Katie got fifth playing her violine and her brother also competed with his violine! TSC Fundraiser
Tractor Supply is having a nation wide promotion and fund raiser for local 4-H clubs, and Archer City is participting.
WHEN: Sunday, April 11, 2010
WHERE: Tractor Supply~ Southwest Pkwy, Wichita Falls
WHAT: Help TSC promote 4-h through paper clover sales. We will assist cashiers by encouraging customers to purchase paper clovers for a dollar in support of our local 4-H clubs. We will thank customers by carrying bags to thier cars. We will have a table set up with a display board, posters, and an electronic picture frame showing our 4-H members in action. We wil discard record books, photography and any craft items made ect. We will hand out green balloons and suckers and visit with customers and explain what 4-H means to us.
WHY: To show TSC how much we appreciate their efforts in raising money for our County, State, and National 4-H

Stock Show Reminders
Hey Archer City 4-Hers...
Hope everyone had a great Christmas and a happy New Year! we have just a few reminders abut the stock show.
Animals:
If you need help clipping and getting ready for the stock show please call Justin ASAP to get on the schedule. during cold weather please remember to break the ice often and be sure they have clean water.
Cookies for the Stock Show:
Dont forget our club voted to run the concession stand. we need EVERY family to bring at least 2 dozen cookies or brownies to put in the "meal deals" we will sell. Please wrap 2 cookies or one brownie and put them in plastic bag or wrap. please bring these to the concession stand friday morning when all projects are checked in.
Workers for the concession stand:
At the 4-H christmas party we had a sign in sheet for workers at the concession stand. We still need more workers!!! We need 3 or 4 parents(one who can grill burgers)and some kids.
